Bring it On.

Congratulations. You survived 2015!

You know this is take two of my New Year's post. I was going to write on how to form and act upon the perfect New Year's resolutions. But as my friend reminded me the other night "I don't like reading those types of posts. The author never goes through with them, so why should I?"

True, true, a million times over.

I make resolutions, and I work hard to make them, and I work less hard to keep them. Sometimes things go as planned... other times not.

So I'm not here to tell you how to make resolutions or why to make them or how to keep them. Because honestly, I am awful at all those things and I don't want to give you guys false advice. :)

But I am here to tell you that 2016 could be the best year of your life.

Think of how much your life changed in 2015. Good things, bad things, funny things, things that made you learn. New friends, better relationships with the older ones. Lost family members, new smaller ones.

A year from now, your life could be dramatically different. Whether it is for good or for bad- that is up for you to decide.

2016 is blank. There are 365 chances to do something amazing and remarkable- something the world will remember. There are 365 chances to love harder, forgive more, frown less. There are 365 days to run to Jesus with open arms. There are 365 days to find new hobbies that interest you and create passions out of the ones you have now.

There is so many more paintings to look at, so much more music to listen to, so many more recipes to be made, so many stories waiting to be read.

Dreams! Dreams are such an amazing thing, but sometime they seem to hold us back instead of pushing us further. But as one of my favorite quotes says "The only thing holding you back between you and your goals is you".

So what are we waiting for?

Take chances and risks and dares! Smile at strangers more, have conversations with old friends! Take time to watch the sunrise, and put the phone down when it sets. Organize your room and put on a good smelling candle. Remember that it's okay to treat yourself. Don't forget in order to love others, you must first love yourself.

I don't know about you, but a blank year is so very exciting. We can dramatically change our life! It starts today, it starts right now.

If you want to write resolutions, write
resolutions. I believe in you; I believe the you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. :)

Goodbye 2015, thank you for the memories. 2016... bring it on.

All through Christ,

Maddie
